Seventh Grade
All classes: All classes will be working on a large, ongoing poetry unit with
a booklet of poetry as a final project. "Checkpoints" to stay on target to finish the project on time will be posted
here as we proceed through the unit.
All Classes:
Students should complete their haikus, alphabet and 5W poems by 2/24.
Students should complete their cinquains, diamonds and concrete poems by 3/3.
Students should complete their limericks, personification and me, myself and I poems by 3/7.
All remaining poems (alliteration, sonnet/ballad, dadaist, rhymed couplet and free verse) should be completed by Monday,
3/17.
There will be a poetry notes check Friday, 3/13.
Eighth Grade:
All classes:
Periods 3 and 6: Read Pages 185-226 of Nothing to Fear for Monday.
Read 227-265 for Tuesday in period 3 and Wednesday in period 6.
There will be a written reading assignment in class on Thursday, 3/13.
Period Four: We will be reading the play of The Diary of Anne Frank aloud in class. There will be
a graded assignment following each act and a larger project following the conclusion of the play.
Following the conclusion of the play and related assignments students will be writing their own plays for
our next extended project.
