I’m excited about the prospect for an exciting school year. Each
year I begin by saying this will be the best year ever. We work hard at making improvements in both curriculum and planning
at the Jr/Sr High School. With these improvements there is always the hope that this year will be our best one yet!
I truly believe this because we have fostered a partnership with outside agencies and have brought the staff together relative
to improving instruction at every level.
As I look at last year to assess our performance, one thing is for sure:
Our kids reaped many rewards from being at Eldred. The 7th and 8th grade scores in both math and English continue
to improve from years past. This is only the beginning. As we look forward to the 2007-2008 school year we will
have reading and math labs available to benefit our 7/8 grade student population.
The high school students will have new opportunities for AIS services in both
social studies and English. Along with these efforts, we will once again be able to offer driver education to our seniors.
The Eldred School Community was highly instrumental in making sure that improvements for the high school will continue with
the passing of a building referendum. 7/8 grade classrooms will be added, a multi-purpose room for band and chorus,
and science rooms.
We will continue with our academic curriculum task force agendas throughout
the course of the year and we will institute a time at the end of the school day were teachers are available for small group
or individual assistance on a weekly basis.
In keeping the lines of communication open with parents and the community
we have a monthly guidance newsletter for our upper classmen. This newsletter will keep students and parents informed
in a brand new way. To reach any staff member at the school you can email that staff member with their first initial
and last name + @eldredschools.org. for example, my email address is: skrebs@eldredschools.org. Additionally, you can feel free to call us at 557-6014.
Have a GREAT year as we continue the improvements you demand from a quality
school system.
Sincerely yours,
Scott Krebs
Junior-Senior High School Principal
